Frankenmuth to Host Made-in-Michigan Film Festival
The Made-in-Michigan Film Festival (MiMFF) is pleased to announce that this year’s festival will be held on October 18 & 19, 2013 in beautiful Frankenmuth, Michigan.
Located in the heart of Michigan’s Great Lakes Bay Region, Frankenmuth has welcomed the MiMFF with open arms. The #1 tourist destination in Michigan, Frankenmuth boasts several outstanding attractions including Zehnder’s, America’s largest family-owned restaurant, and Bronner’s, the world’s largest Christmas Store. First-class accommodations, historic mills and museums, two award-winning breweries, the Bavarian Inn’s “world famous chicken”, and the beautiful Cass River that flows adjacent to eclectic downtown shopping makes Frankenmuth a perfect host city for this major event.
Now in its fifth year, the MiMFF is the only film festival that is exclusive to Michigan-made films. A 501c(3) certified non-profit organization, the MiMFF is dedicated to enriching the local community both culturally and economically by promoting public interest in the Michigan Film Industry and by encouraging the Michigan Film Industry to utilize local resources. The MiMFF is presented annually to celebrate and recognize Michigan film talent while making independent, Michigan-made films available to the public.
In addition to the world-class amenities available in Frankenmuth during the festival, filmmakers will enjoy networking with other film industry professionals through various Filmmaker Receptions, Hospitality Venues and festival-themed Parties. Festival-goers will be offered a full program of juried film selections shown in a state-of-the-art, 500-seat theater within the Bronner Performing Arts Center and at other quality screening venues throughout the city. Several MiMFF-related activities are being planned including educational student workshops. Frankenmuth’s annual Scarecrow Festival will be happening throughout the weekend as well.
The MiMFF Call for Entries and Film Submission Form is now available here:
Adult and student filmmakers are encouraged to submit their films before the Early Bird Deadline of June 1st to take advantage of the “No Fee” window.
The Made-in-Michigan Film Festival is excited to work with the city of Frankenmuth to provide an enjoyable and valuable experience for Michigan’s film community and film enthusiasts.
